To My Kids: Chase Your Dreams, No Matter What
Share
My dear kids,
If there’s one lesson I hope you carry with you through life, it’s this: your dreams matter. They are the sparks of something bigger than yourself, the compass that will guide you toward a life that feels full and meaningful.
I know that chasing dreams isn’t always easy. There will be days when you doubt yourself, when the path ahead feels too uncertain, too steep, too exhausting. People may tell you that your dreams are too big, too unrealistic, or too risky. Ignore them. The world has always belonged to the dreamers, the ones who dared to believe in something beyond what others could see.
I won’t pretend the journey will be smooth. I’ve walked this path myself—pouring my heart into my art, my writing, my work. I’ve faced setbacks, questioned myself, and wondered if it was all worth it. But every time I kept going, I discovered something amazing: the struggle is part of the reward. Growth happens in the moments of uncertainty, in the lessons learned through failures, in the resilience built when you refuse to quit.
Whatever you choose to pursue—whether it's art, science, music, business, or something the world hasn’t even dreamed up yet—give it everything you’ve got. Be bold. Be relentless. Be kind to yourself. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and push away the voices that try to dim your light.
And when fear creeps in, when you wonder if you're good enough, strong enough, or capable enough—remember this: You already are. You were born with everything you need to create something incredible in this world. The only thing left to do is start.
So chase your dreams, my loves. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s worth it.
With all my heart,
Dad
