Bolt Voltage Breaks Ground at Super Jersey Comic Expo
Share
There are moments in creative life when things just click—and the Super Jersey Comic Expo was one of those for me.
Walking into the expo with 50 advance copies of Bolt Voltage, I felt equal parts excitement and nerves. This wasn’t just a book; it was a piece of my soul, stitched into a graphic novel format and brought to life through emotion, color, and character. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would resonate with people.
We sold 22 books right there at the table.
But more meaningful than the numbers was the feedback. Passersby stopped in their tracks, drawn in not just by Bolt’s design but by something deeper—the layout, the mood, the feeling. Many readers pointed out something I hadn’t fully realized until seeing it through their eyes: Bolt Voltage, though presented as a graphic novel, carries a storytelling style entirely my own.
Each spread places the heart of the story on one page, with the action and emotional cues exploding out visually on the other. It’s like poetry meets animation—minimalist in language, rich in expression. This structure seemed to enchant curious minds, pulling readers in like a whisper that makes you lean closer.
And now, we move forward.
Bolt’s next stop? The Food Trucks & Spring Fling Festival in Wall Township, NJ, on May 17–18, the weekend following Mother’s Day. It’ll be two full days of community connection, delicious food, and family fun—and Bolt will be there for in-person meet-and-greets, book signings, and a few surprises for kids and grown-ups alike.
This momentum is only possible because of the support from readers, artists, and dreamers who see something special in this electric little robot. From the bottom of my heart—thank you. We’re just getting started.
